Community Liaison Worker/Caseworker
Salary: the successful candidate will receive a salary of £22,266 pro. rata
Working pattern: Part-time, 2 days per week.
Location: Kirkintilloch Constituency office and/or home
Fixed Term: To cover adoption leave until March 2021.
Job description
Enthusiastic candidate, with preferable caseworker experience required, to join an excellent team currently dealing with a range of issues and concerns from constituents. You’ll be someone who enjoys working in a small team and able to show compassion whilst remaining objective when dealing with sensitive issues.
In addition, you will act as the community liaison officer for team, engaging with community groups and the wider community, identifying local requirements, arranging events, campaigns and offering assistance in all matters relating to the Covid-19 pandemic.
You are eligible for 25 days’ annual leave and 10.5 days’ public holidays (pro rata). You will also be able to join a group personal pension scheme that attracts an employer’s contribution of 10% of salary.
Person Specification
You need to be able to demonstrate:

you relate well to people with good written and verbal communication skills

knowledge of local constituency/regional issues with the ability to maintain and build on this knowledge

Ability to map, collate and organise community contacts

Proficient organisational skills with positive, proactive approach to work

strong organisational/administrative and IT skills with good attention to detail

analytical skills and the ability to identify issues and investigate them
-
knowledge of Scottish political scene

the ability to work well in a small team
-
a flexible and adaptable approach with good initiative
-
the ability to manage and prioritise a caseload of work that may increase at times
-
previous related experience may be useful
