KIRKINTILLOCH pupils were decorated before their local MSP at St Ninian’s High School’s annual award ceremony.

Rona Mackay MSP joined engagements as dozens of standout students received prizes for various achievements last night (Thursday, October 13).

Rona Mackay MSP met some 130 prize-winners for academic excellence, academic success, Caritas awards and special prizes like dux, head teacher’s award and Catholic ethos.

The Strathkelvin and Bearsden representative was “honoured” to recognise young achievers and talent at the high school.

She said: “I am very proud to have joined such exceptional talent at St Ninian’s High School, during its annual award ceremony.

“I was honoured to attend, so I would like to thank the school for inviting me along to present the awards.

“Young people are top on my agenda as a Member of the Scottish Parliament, so meeting young achievers at St Ninian’s award ceremony was extra special to me.”
