Women EmpowerED event in Bishopbriggs

Rona Mackay MSP

Strathkelvin and Bearsden MSP, Rona Mackay, and Councillor Gordon Low attended a local business roadshow, organised by Women EmpowerED at Babes in The Woods in Bishopbriggs.

The event showcased over 20 local businesses that operate within East Dunbartonshire.

Women EmpowerED was formed in 2018 by Laura Gilmour of Little Legs Baby Kilts, and is open to self employed women who operate their businesses within East Dunbartonshire. It provides a supportive and encouraging environment for networking and collaborative working.

Commenting on the event, Rona said:

“This was a fantastic showcase of local female entrepreneurs, who make a valuable contribution to the local economy. I hope that Women EmpowerED continues to grow and attract new members and facilitate the creation of more local businesses.

The group meets monthly, on a Wednesday evening in Kirkintilloch, if you would like to know more about the group, contact Laura Gilmour at laura@littlelegsbabykilts.co.uk
