Local Charity Funding Opportunity

Rona Mackay MSP has welcomed the launch of funding opportunities for local charities and community groups by the Postcode Lottery.

Applications are open from 6th February until 20th February, to apply for grants of between £500 and £20,000. There are three different trusts, which have a different focus for funding:

People’s Postcode Trust  - supports projects which focus on the prevention of poverty, promotion of human rights and combatting discrimination.

Postcode Community Trust – supports projects focussed on improving health and well-being through grassroots sports, reducing isolation, arts and physical recreation.

Postcode Local Trust – supports projects that support green space improvements, increasing access to outdoor spaces, renewable energy and flood prevention.

Full details of how to apply for funding are on the websites for each specific trust.

Rona said “I have had the privilege of visiting many amazing charities and community groups across Strathkelvin and Bearsden, and I know many need and deserve extra funding. The three funding trusts by the Postcode Lottery offer a valuable route to enable local charities and community groups carry out valuable projects in my constituency.”

“The funding application period is only 2 weeks long, so I would encourage all local groups to apply as soon as possible”
