PRIDE IN NEW £34.9M ADDITIONAL SUPPORT NEEDS FACILITY
Local MSP Rona Mackay had a “brilliant” visit last week to Woodhill View School, the new Additional Support Needs School serving the whole of East Dunbartonshire.
The £34.9m building at Waterside, Kirkintilloch opened late last year, replacing Campsie View and Merkland Schools. Around 200 children and young people, aged 2 to 18 years, are now being taught together in the state-of-the-art facility, which has 120 members of staff.
The SNP MSP for Strathkelvin and Bearsden had a full tour of the facilities and met up with head teacher Kay Hunter and her team.
Ms Mackay said: It was a brilliant visit. What a wonderful facility. Kay and her dedicated team have been doing a fantastic job building a new school community and should be very proud.”
“I wish pupils, teachers and staff every success in the coming years.”
